The recent storms have given us just one more thing to be thankful for: the safety and well-being of our community. We were so lucky to escape with minimal damage compared to our friends in New York and New Jersey. The devastation they are experiencing is truly putting our Thanksgiving holiday into perspective. We are so thankful for your safety, and we want to keep it that way.
By now you may have seen the TV ads by some larger insurance companies, including State Farm and Allstate, discussing the hazards of turkey fryer fires. As funny as the State Farm ad may be, the statistics presented by Allstate are true. Thanksgiving is one of the most popular days of the year for fire related home insurance claims. Grease and cooking-related claims more than double on Thanksgiving Day compared to an average day in November.
Whether you fry or roast your turkey, we ask that you please be careful and follow the tips below. Don’t forget to be mindful no matter what you do in the kitchen, preparing stuffing, veggies, pies, and deserts alike. We want to remain thankful for the continued safety of our friends.
